We have reached a remarkable milestone – 25 years as NUS School of Computing. From a student enrolment of 1,700 back in 1998, we now have over 6,000 today. That’s how much we have grown in a quarter of a century!
NUS Computing has played an instrumental role in delivering computing education and grooming generations of IT professionals for Singapore over the years. Our graduates are highly sought-after, a testament to our success.

It has been an incredible 25-year journey so far. As we embark on the next 25 years, I am confident that the legacy we leave behind will prevail in our future endeavours and accomplishments.
Department of Computer Science, under Faculty of Science, was established at University of Singapore-Nanyang University Joint Campus.
Three-year degree course in Computer Science was introduced.

DISCS moved into S15 building.
1998
SoC expanded and occupied S17 building, which was renamed SOC1.
NUS Computing traces its roots back to Nanyang University's Department of Computer Science that was established in 1975. Since then, NUS Computing has developed into one of the best computing schools in the world.
